About this Program

The Teaching Sciences B.A.Sc. prepares students for licensure in general science (grades 5-8) as well as a second license in a chosen content area (see below). All students take core science coursework in biology, chemistry, geology, physics, and mathematics. They learn how to teach sciences both inside and outside the classroom, integrating environmental education into formal and nonformal settings such as parks and nature centers. In the heart of northern Minnesota, students have the opportunity to go out into our abundant natural environments to apply science to the real world.

Teaching Earth & Space Science  This Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree is offered by the Department of Education in conjunction with the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences. Students have the option of completing an environmental education emphasis with this major.
