About This Program

In the Teaching Earth & Space Science program, you learn how to teach sciences both inside and outside the classroom, integrating environmental education into formal and non-formal settings such as parks and nature centers. In the heart of northern Minnesota, you have the opportunity to go out into our abundant natural environments to apply science to the real world.

The Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree prepares you for licensure in General Science (grades 5-8) as well as a second license in Teaching Earth and Space Science (grades 9-12). Coursework is offered by the Department of Education with the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences. You have the option of completing an environmental education emphasis with this major.
