About This Program

The African and African American Studies minor is an interdisciplinary program that examines the worldwide historical and current experience of African Americans and people of African descent.

Our programming will introduce you to the cultures, institutions, and societies in Africa and its Diasporas through diverse course offerings, individualized research activities, advocacy, and community and civic engagement. Our professors are not only dedicated teachers and mentors but are also leading experts in their respective disciplines who incorporate their ground-breaking scholarship into the classroom.
