About This Program

How about shaping the next generation workforce and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion? Want to fuse psychology with financial savvy, moving beyond number crunching and solely profit motive? If these resonate with you, a Human Resource Management (HRM) minor could be an excellent choice.
The HRM minor provides you a foundational understanding of concepts related to strategic human resources, training and development, compensation and benefits, workforce analytics, labor relations, and staffing in an increasingly complex and competitive environment. HRM minors attend a subset of classes taken by HRM majors. The program curriculum follows the Society for Human Resource Management’s guidelines.
Research & Experiential Learning

Student Internships
LSBE offers an in-house internship program led by a dedicated director who oversees more than 200 internships annually. The director works with both you and employers to ensure valuable, real-world experiences.
Students regularly secure internships at top companies, including: 3M, Cintas, Google, Hormel, Fastenal, Land O’Lakes, Minnesota Vikings, Target, UnitedHealth Group, Sherwin-Williams, Taylor Corporation, and SPS Commerce—as well as school-year and remote internships in the Duluth area.
Scholarships
Each year, LSBE awards more than 150 scholarships to students across all business majors and academic paths.
